Masonry Pictures

"After" shots of the front of the house. Those slates aren't slate, the window sill was cracked, and a few of those bricks actually aren't even brick. And you'd never know by looking at it... unless you get too close. At this point I can tell in these pictures, but I know what I'm looking for.

A couple "before" shots on the front of the house. They were only doing some touchup on the bottom few courses of bricks and the slates on this wall.

Here you can see where they've gone back and colored the mortar. The white on the left is new, the redder on the right is just as new but is... well... red.

Three of these are of more or less the same spot on the house, front corner where the power lines come in from the street. You can see the deteriorated condition before and the much nicer after. The mismatched shot is of the neighbors' house, showing what a lousy job doing exactly what I had done really looks like.

A couple "action" shots, they were working largely from the roof of the neighbors' house and on ladders when working on the north wall, since the alley is so narrow. Also, a couple more progress shots.

These are primarily pictures of the masonry I had repaired in May. This will expand as we find more stuff that will need to be fixed.

First pillar holding up the porch, nearest to the road

Spalling brick at the corner of the house on the porch

The center pillar holding up the porch. The mason ended up removing the entire pillar by jacking up the porch and just pushing the pillar over.

Both chimneys needed major rebuild

OK, not masonry... but where else to put the exterior of the skylight?

Also not masonry, this is the old gate on the side alley

This is where they fixed spalling on the front of the house along the sidewalk

The replacement for the center porch support pillar. They left the porch up on blocks because some of the wood is rotted out and this was a better option. When I rip the porch apart these will come out.

The new front post on the porch, and the new gate on the side alley.

Where they fixed spalling on the corner of the house adjacent to the porch.
