The Customs House is where Nathaniel Hawthorne worked for a while...
A reasonably good shot of Amanda. You'll notice throughout the pictures that there is no proof that I was on this vacation at all.
A couple shots of the schooner 'Fame' - a replica of an 1811 fishing schooner that may never have gone fishing - it promptly became a privateer in the war of 1812. We went for a 2 hour cruise on it, thus the following pictures. I only became somewhat seasick...
All the shots from the boat were taken in shifting weather with a 1' to 2' chop to the seas. I think I did pretty well :-)
That's the House of Seven Gables. I couldn't take and pictures when we were touring it because it's a museum. However, they can't stop me from taking pictures from the deck of a schooner out on the bay...
That sundress, while great for 80+ degrees and sunny wandering around Salem, really wasn't quite enough when a front went through and we were out on the bay getting rained on. She didn't care.
A rock tower in the bay. Apparently at this point there's really nothing left holding it together but gravity and friction, and it just keeps standing there. Someone on the boat was talking about what it is, but I don't remember.
Finally, an unobstructed shot of the schooner.
